1. Do you get paid to do these reviews?
No. I'm not getting paid and am not receiving any profit from writing these reviews.
2. Why were you trying to be anonymous on your old website?
To protect my identity when visiting restaurants. I don't want people to treat me differently because they know they are being reviewed.
3. Can I share my input about restaurants?
With the change to this website, you may now add comments to individual postings. Not at this time. You are welcome to participate by sharing restaurants that you like, and I will add them to the Places to Go list so that others may try them as well. You can do this by leaving a comment or posting on the respective Places to Go page.
4. How do you decide which restaurants to review?Mostly by word of mouth. Some by viewing advertisements or driving by. A lot of it has to do with where I am physically located at the moment.
5. Has any restaurant found out that you have reviewed it?Only one as far as I know, but it doesn't affect the review received.
6. Why don't you list wine pairings with the meal?I seldom order wine. It helps me stay focused solely on the dishes and flavors being tried at each location.
7. When did you decide to start doing restaurant reviews?I've been informally reviewing restaurants for a long time, but I only began writing them down as of September 2003 when I put together my previous trAde dining website.
8. If the reviews began in September of 2003, why are some of the restaurants last visited from before that date being reviewed? Some restaurants left a deep impression with me, both good and bad. So I felt the need to note the overall feeling I got about the place on this site.
9. Are you planning to turn this into a full time profession? If someone wants to pay me to write reviews, I will certainly consider it.
10. What are Places to Go?Places to Go are places I haven't been, but people have recommended or I have researched and heard that it was a good place to check out.
11. Why did you switch to this website server? The old server was unreliable. Web 2.x is the place to be. Gotta change with the times. And now you can write comments too!
